“Magic and Irony” is a name of Achille Castiglioni’s exhibition, set up in Palermo in 2004. Magic and ironic is the Italian design between the 50’s and the 70’s, thanks to which our world still recognizes incredible design creativity and that’s why those years are remembered as l’age d’or of the Italian design. Without any doubt Castiglioni is one of the most brilliant designers, but there are masterpieces of other home-bred outstanding artists like Vico Magistretti or Ettore Sottsass together with young projectionists-experimenters’ works of art.
